A Climate Constant Wine Cellar
One of the coolest (literally) things about this house, in addition to all of the custom tilework, kitchen design and woodwork is the wine cellar area of the basement. It stays a cool ~65° F in the summer and upper 50s° F in the winter. The ideal temperature range, according to Wine Spectator is between 45° F and 65° F. Since this area is below ground, there aren’t any rapid, extreme or frequent temperature swings.
This cellar is in a dark area of the basement, so you won’t have to worry about sunlight degrading your wine. To quote Wine Spectator again, light, especially sunlight, can pose a potential problem for long-term storage.
