Many Upper Bucks Municipalities will not have a property tax rate increase in 2018
Some municipalities plan on using surplus money from their fund balance to maintain the current tax rate. This is not sustainable according to municipal administrators. When reserves start shrinking, officials often look at raising taxes or selling off assets.
Upper Bucks Municipalities with no municipal property tax increase to date for 2018 include:
- Richland Township
- Bedminster Township
- Bridgeton Township
- Haycock Township
- Quakertown Borough
- Tinicum Township
Municipal property taxes typically make up the smallest portion of a total property tax bill. School taxes usually make up the largest portion with county taxes somewhere in the middle.
Bucks County’s tax rate is expected to remain at 23.2 mills for 2018.
